The Tazei Foundation’s mushroom cultivation initiative in Manipur is designed to empower women and youth in the hilly districts of Tamenglong and Noney by fostering entrepreneurship,Leveraging the region’s favourable climate and water resources,the program trains local communities in mushroom cultivation, which requires low investment and minimal land.
The initiative addresses challenge like limited awareness ,infrastructure ,market access while offering opportunities to enhance rural livilihoods,promote sustainable forest management, and improve food security.The successful participation from six villages highlights the program ‘s potential to drive economic growth and sustainability in the region.
